Delete Your Account
Introduction
This page explains how to delete your GoRacquet account and exactly what happens to your data when you do. It is published so that anyone can find it — including people who have already uninstalled the app.
GoRacquet is a marketplace for social racket-sport sessions. Deleting your account removes you from it completely; it does not simply hide or deactivate your profile.
Delete From Inside the App
This is the fastest route and takes effect immediately.
- Open GoRacquet and go to the Profile tab
- Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete my account
- Read the summary of what will be deleted and confirm
You will be shown how many upcoming sessions you host, how many players that affects, and how many sessions you have joined, before anything is deleted. You will be asked to confirm twice. There is no undo.
Request Deletion by Email
If you have already uninstalled the app or cannot sign in, email us and we will delete the account for you.
Email: privacy@goracquet.app
Subject: Account deletion request
Send the request from the email address registered to the account so we can verify who you are. If you cannot, tell us the registered email address and we will contact you to verify your identity before deleting anything. We will not action a deletion request we cannot verify, because doing so would let anyone delete another person's account.
We action verified requests within 30 days, and normally much sooner.
What Is Deleted
Deleting your account permanently removes:
- Your login — email address and password
- Your profile — name, profile picture, phone number, gender and city
- Your sporting information — the sports you play, skill levels and any external ratings
- Your saved search area — your pin, radius, home suburb and travel distance
- Your session history — every session you joined, waitlisted, cancelled or attended
- Ratings and reviews you have written about organisers
- Reports you have filed about a session, review or user
- Your block list — and any block another user placed on you
- Sessions you host, along with their descriptions, court details and photographs
- Your uploaded images — your avatar and any court photographs
- Your notifications — your inbox, your notification preferences and the push tokens for your devices
What Happens to Sessions You Host
If you host sessions, deleting your account is not only about you, so it is handled explicitly:
- Any upcoming session you host is cancelled as part of the deletion
- Every player holding a place or sitting on the waitlist for those sessions is notified that the session was cancelled because the organiser deleted their account
- Those notices are kept so players still receive them after your account is gone
- Past sessions you hosted are deleted along with your account. Attendance records attached to them are removed too, which means they no longer count towards other players' session totals
If you would rather your sessions went ahead, cancel or reschedule them yourself before deleting your account, and give your players notice.
What Happens to Sessions You Have Joined
- Your place is given up, and the next player on the waitlist is automatically promoted into it
- The organiser of that session no longer has access to your phone number
What Is Retained
- Reports other people filed about you are retained, no longer linked to your account, so that a moderation decision survives the account it was about. They keep only the name or session title as it stood when the report was made
- Server and security logs are retained for a limited period for security and fraud prevention. These are not part of your profile and are not used to identify you afterwards
- Anything the law requires us to keep is retained for as long as that obligation lasts
- Copies already downloaded by others — for example a court photograph someone saved before deletion — are outside our control
We do not keep a shadow copy of your profile, and we do not retain your account so that it can be restored later. Deletion is permanent.
Timeframe
- In-app deletion takes effect immediately
- Email requests are actioned within 30 days of us verifying the request
- Routine encrypted backups are cycled out on their normal schedule, after which no copy remains
